The conference, led again this year by journalist and presenter Grett O’Connor, will feature a series of engaging presentations, interactive panel discussions, and networking opportunities, providing a platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange.

National and international thought leaders including John Fahey, Senior Economist at AIB, Professor Felicity Kelliher at SETU, Major General Maureen O’Brien and Professor Mary Horgan, Ireland’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr Saranna Fanning, Assistant Professor in Neurology at Harvard Medical School; together with the exciting panellists will present the need to embrace change and challenge our logic and creativity as we actively require our brain and challenge it regularly to allows us as humans to stay ahead of technology. Our speakers on the day will share insights, debate, and discuss how the private and public sector can learn from transformational leadership.

This one-day conference is aimed at companies and businesses of all sizes and structures across multiple sectors; from start-ups, to scaling and international competing businesses across the region. Cantillon 2025 is the ideal opportunity for a business away day to listen, learn and network.

Now in its eleventh year, the groundbreaking conference is named in honour of Ballyheigue native Richard Cantillon, a pioneering economist credited with the origin of the term entrepreneur. The annual event brings together a host of national and international industry leaders, economists, journalists, academics and entrepreneurs to examine and explore key technology-related topics.

SESSION ONE: POWERING UP: CHASING THE CURRENT

This session will set the scene for the conference presenting a view
of the global economy, its trends, opportunities and challenges. We will hear of the growing representation of international cultures in the workplace and how we need to embrace this and grow with it. Being aware of these changes is a starting point – we need to act on the change. We will learn how we can do this and how we can actively lead through these unprecedented times of transformation as we rethink and rewire our brain!

This session will show us that acting on change and with the right people in place in not enough for us to stay ahead. We need personal ownership. We each need to buy in. We need to make sure our brains are healthy and well – challenging our logic and our creativity - frequently. During this session we will learn of innovative ways in understanding brain health and how we can physically, nutritionally and mentally power our key asset – the brain! As we lead through these opportunistic times of transformation, we need to actively rewire the brain and challenge it regularly to allow us as humans to stay ahead of technology.
